SMI is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Manager to take full ownership of projects from the point of sale through successful order fulfillment.
The SMi Project Manager plans, organizes, and oversees a project from start to finish, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Their responsibilities include creating project plans and timelines, managing resources, assigning tasks, removing roadblocks, and communicating with both the project team and customer, to ensure the project's success.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Manage SMi website and inquiries, responding within 24 hours of receipt
- Support customers: Quote, answer questions, manage day-to-day issues, answer emails, etc.
- Maintain and build relationships with suppliers
- Manage Process Development Checklists for new products and track from development to release into production
- Meet with key customer product development teams to assure SMI gets input into designs
- Work with quality on customer quality issues
- Participate in ISO audits
- Compile and analyze quotes of sales data and forecast future growth and business needs
- Manage and prepare monthly quote to sale ratio data for VP of Quality
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree: Business, Management, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members.
- Leadership: Create project plans and timelines, managing resources, assigning tasks and removing roadblocks.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed to navigate challenges. Ability to read PDF and CAD models drawings.
- Risk management: Project managers must be skilled in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.
- Organizational: Strong organizational skills are required for planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Technical: Basic knowledge of silicone operations, including injection molding and extrusion
