We are seeking a dental assistant to oversee our clinical team and ensure the highest standards of patient care within our specialty dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, excellent leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of procedures and protocols. This role requires proficiency in various dental software systems and a commitment to maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Duties

  • Lead and mentor the clinical team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Oversee daily clinical operations, including patient scheduling, treatment planning, and coordination with other dental providers.
  • Assist with chairside duties, including four-handed dentistry techniques, taking vital signs, performing X-rays, and utilizing 3D imaging.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Ensure infection control protocols are followed and that aseptic techniques are practiced in all clinical procedures.
  • Collaborate with dental receptionists to enhance patient experience and streamline clinic operations.
  • Stay updated on advancements in endodontics and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a dental clinic setting
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to the field.
  • Familiarity with various EMR systems
  • Experience with medical imaging techniques and equipment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while ensuring patient comfort.
  • Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Certification in dental assisting is preferred;
  • North Carolina Dental Radiology certificate required.
