What You'll Do
As a Financial Coordinator, you will support the financial and administrative operations of the practice while serving as a resource for patients and families. Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Review and verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility
- Obtain and document accurate insurance and patient financial information
- Review treatment plans and explain estimated patient financial responsibilities
- Communicate treatment costs, payment options, and available financing options to patients and families
- Collect copayments, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments
- Process payments accurately and maintain appropriate documentation
- Assist with insurance claims, pre-authorizations, and follow-up as needed
- Monitor outstanding patient balances and assist with collection efforts
- Work with insurance companies to resolve claim issues and obtain necessary information
- Maintain accurate patient financial records in accordance with office policies and procedures
- Answer patient questions regarding insurance coverage, billing, statements, and account balances
- Coordinate with the clinical team to ensure treatment plans and financial information are accurately communicated
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and other applicable privacy requirements
- Support scheduling, check-in, check-out, and other front office responsibilities as needed
- Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming front office environment
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Previous experience in dental, medical, or healthcare financial coordination preferred
- Experience with dental insurance and benefits verification preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance claims, and patient billing processes
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable discussing financial responsibilities and payment options with patients
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with dental practice management software preferred
