At 210 Orthodontics, we pride ourselves on providing personalized orthodontic treatments in a welcoming environment. We're seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll work closely with our orthodontists to assist in various procedures, educate patients on oral health, and ensure a seamless clinic experience. Areas of Responsibility Include (but not limited to):
- Coordinate patient flow – constantly review schedule as day proceeds, anticipate, plan and adjust accordingly to see patients in timely manner
- Prepare chair for patient and next procedure – archwire change, banding, bonding, rebond, removal, appliance delivery
- Greet patients
- Invite parents back to treatment area with patient
- Seat patients and engage them in conversation as you work expressing genuine interest and concern
- Untie/retie patients
- Record current wire, chain, rubber bands, debond date for retention patients on tray cover for doctor to see
- Anticipate next step in treatment
- Record treatment notes in patient’s chart – what was done today and plans for next appointment
- Deliver patient instructions clearly and concisely
- Make sure patient is comfortable before releasing him/her
- Bring parents up-to-date on child’s treatment
- Clean and prepare chair for next patient
- Stay on schedule
- Take Records – x-rays, photos, models, impressions, scans
Duties
- Sterilize instruments
- Lab appliance duties (track appliances, deal with outside labs)
- Lab duties (pour models, trim models, make Essix retainers, keep lab clean)
- Restock clinic and chairs with supplies from stock room
- Records (photos, x-Rays, impressions, scans)
- Take impressions for Invisalign trays
- Print 3-D models
- Create and submit Prescription for appliances
- Document OBS patient
- Download and crop photos in patient chart
- Download x-rays in patient charts
- Scan documents
- Handle discomfort patients on non-patient days
- Make and deliver Essix retainers
Requirements
- At least 1 year of orthodontic dental assisting experience is required
- Be self-motivated, organized, and have a positive attitude
- Possess great understanding of dental terminology
- Have excellent communication and written skills
- Have excellent public relations skills
- Work well with patients and team
- Be experienced in delivering high-level customer service
- Likes working at a fast pace
- Committed to arriving on time daily and staying late, as needed.
Salary : $18 - $28
