SCI, the Leader in Real Estate Executive Search®, has been retained to recruit a Director of Acquisitions on behalf of a third-generation, vertically integrated affordable housing and multifamily developer with a track record of transacting on over 20,000 units. The company is based in the New York metro area and has an aggressive national expansion underway across 16 states.
The incoming Director will lead the full acquisitions function and team across three business lines — Section 8 preservation, public housing redevelopment, and new construction in emerging markets — with real autonomy and a new leadership team behind a bigger vision. Role reports to CEO.

Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing on- and off-market opportunities through deep broker and partner relationships
- Leading initial underwriting across LIHTC, bridge, and yield-play financing structures
- Driving RFP responses, LOIs, PSAs, and JV negotiations from term sheet to close
- Mentoring an Acquisitions Associate and building the team as the firm scales nationally
Key Requirements
- Multifamily finance/development experience
- Affordable housing (LIHTC) experience
- Advanced financial modeling skills
- HAP / FHA / tax-exempt bond fluency
- National broker relationships a plus
