What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician I- 2nd Shift position at Specialty Coating Systems?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs preventive maintenance, general maintenance and repair, including such things as installation of equipment, work tables, tools or other items.
- Maintains calibration of measurement and test equipment, including all applicable records.
- Follows process instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP’s) and verbal instructions from the Site Operations Manager.
- Maintains, records, checklists and log books on maintenance performed and inspections conducted.
- Maintains tools and test equipment in a serviceable state.
- Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
- Fabricates and assembles production fixtures.
- Fills out supply request forms to order materials necessary to ensure that all production equipment operates in an efficient manner.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May monitor and adjust chemical baths, safely handle storage and disposal of chemicals.
- May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required. Additional post-high school course work or apprenticeship in a technical or mechanical area is preferred. 1 or more years of work experience as a maintenance person in an industrial environment is required.
BASIC SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate uncomplicated data, instructions, production results, quality issues, and similar subjects both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to speak, read and write English.
- High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.
- Hands-on familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to calculate basic mathematic functions and formulas. Can calculate ratios, percentages, and fractions.
- Uses Excel spreadsheets and can write simple formulas and create spreadsheets.
