This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the sanitation team. The Sanitation Supervisor assures compliance with regulatory, customer and GMPs requirements. The position will be responsible for people and team development to ensure continuous improvement while delivering a clean and sanitary workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate daily sanitation activities to ensure cleaning schedules are met.
- Select, train, and supervise department employees; evaluate performance to assure adherence to performance standards, taking corrective action as required. Maintain awareness of employee needs and concerns and take steps necessary to foster a positive and respectful work environment.
- Provides training to sanitation and operations staff on proper cleaning techniques and sanitation procedures. Enforces all company policies and procedures.
- Manages the proper assignment of day-to-day activities of direct reports.
- Develops sanitation procedures and policies in accord with regulatory and quality systems requirements.
- Develops sanitation and procedures and policies in accord with regulatory and quality systems requirements.
- Develops, implements, monitors, and reviews the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
- Analyzes sanitation data to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities. Maintains sanitation records.
- Maintains a systematic procedure for all actions necessary to ensure that the facility is free from conditions that may cause product contamination or adulteration.
- Maintains exceptional level of sanitation in the bakery. Performs internal daily, weekly, and quarterly inspections and audits and assures that external inspections are conducted to keep the facility compliant with FDA and other regulatory agency requirements. Ensure that proper corrective action is taken, as needed.
- Reviews and verifies that all assignments are completed and posted on MSS. Prepares reports and documentation relative to sanitation operations, as required.
- Manages the sanitation and pest control inventory of chemicals and tools. Complies with Safety Data Sheet requirements in the handling of chemicals and proper use of PPE ensuring Sanitation team members are trained upon hire and annually thereafter.
- Develops a partnership with quality, operations, and maintenance to meet company’s objectives.
- At the direction of senior management, assist in other technical duties necessary to optimize current sanitation processes.
- Promote teamwork and a constructive work environment.
- Ensuring that all equipment and areas are properly cleaned, sanitized, and inspected for cleanliness.
- Uses food safety work practices’ ensuring no product is contaminated as consequences of conducting duties of this position.
- Ensure that Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures are followed as required.
- Maintains active working knowledge of all sanitation and cleaning procedures.
- Ensures that approved sanitizing chemicals, safety equipment, power equipment and manual tools are being used correctly and safely.
- Ensures proper chemical handling techniques while wearing the proper PPE.
- Maintains all buildings by washing walls, ceilings, floors, removing trash and disinfects all water drains as needed.
- Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.
- Other duties as assigned.
