Job Overview
Specialty Awning is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Industrial Seamstress/Sewing Machine Operator to help produce custom fabric awnings and canopies. If you enjoy hands-on work and take pride in clean, accurate sewing, we'd like to hear from you.
Duties
- Operate industrial sewing machines to sew and finish custom awning cover.
- Measure, mark, and cut fabric according to job specifications.
- Work with Sunbrella, canvas, and other outdoor fabrics.
- Sew seams, hems, pockets, and reinforcement areas.
- Follow measurements, patterns, and reinforcement areas.
- Inspect finished work for accurate sizing and consistent stitching.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety standards in production environments to prevent accidents and ensure smooth operations.
Experience
- Previous sewing experience: industrial sewing experience preferred.
- Experience with awnings, upholstery, marine canvas, or other heavy fabrics is a plus.
- Ability to read a tape measure and work accurately with fractions.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to hand and position large fabric panels during production.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
