On‑Road Vehicle Durability Evaluation Driver

Picture the start of your shift: you sign out a technically advanced pre‑production or production vehicle, load the day’s route and test procedures on your tablet, and head to public roads to evaluate how every system performs. Across changing weather, traffic, and terrain, you’ll methodically assess powertrain behavior, build quality, and the functionality and design of each vehicle system. After the drive, you’ll document a clear, concise report—one full vehicle evaluation for every vehicle you operate.

• 1st shift: 4:00 am – 12:30 pm
• 2nd shift: 4:00 pm – 12:30 am
• Saturday/Sunday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Note: Shifts typically run 8–10 hours.

• Conduct a complete vehicle evaluation for each assigned vehicle and produce a clear, concise report and all required records during your shift.
• Drive on designated routes for 8 to 10 hours while executing defined test procedures.
• Operate vehicles with exceptional safety and professionalism, adhering to all traffic laws and site safety/security procedures.
• Maneuver oversized vehicles confidently and safely.
• Drive comfortably in inclement weather conditions.

• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license held for a minimum of 5 years.
• No points, no major traffic citations, and/or accidents within the past three years; no DUI or DWAI.
• Capable of reading maps and working with an iPad or tablet.
• Able to lift at least 25 pounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability 3 to 5 days per week (preferably 5 days).
• Comfortable driving for prolonged periods.
• Strong verbal communication; able to write legibly and document detailed findings.
• Follows directions accurately; dependable with strong attendance.
• Completes all required training.
• Positive attitude and a collaborative, team‑focused mindset.
