About the Opportunity
Specialized Recruiting Group is partnering with a growing, well-established firm on Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore to identify a Tax Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who is looking to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on with complex tax planning, compliance, and advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple tax engagements across corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and fiduciaries
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning solutions aligned with client goals
- Oversee preparation and review of tax returns, provisions, and related filings
- Provide guidance on IRS and state tax matters, including audits and correspondence
- Conduct complex tax research and advise on evolving tax legislation
- Identify tax savings opportunities and risk areas for clients
- Mentor, train, and supervise tax staff and seniors
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors on complex tax and financial matters
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Maintain and enhance tax processes, systems, and reporting accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA license required (Maryland preferred or ability to obtain)
- 5 years of experience in public accounting or consulting environment
- Strong background working with multiple clients and entity types
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Advanced degree (MST, JD, or LLM) is a plus
