Senior Accountant — Direct Hire | Northside Indianapolis | $90K Depending on Experience
A well-established professional services firm on the Northside of Indianapolis is seeking a Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and partner closely with executive leadership. This direct-hire role offers long-term stability, strong visibility, and the opportunity to step into an established but evolving accounting environment.
The Senior Accountant will handle core functions including payroll, financial reporting support, work-in-progress (WIP), client invoicing, contract management, and month-end activities. This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, thrives in a service-based revenue model, and enjoys improving processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage work-in-progress (WIP)
- Prepare and process client invoices
- Support client and subconsultant contract management
- Assist with client receipts and collections
- Process payroll
- Assist with financial reporting
- Support month-end and year-end close
- Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Master’s degree or CPA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in a service-based revenue model strongly preferred
- Managerial or supervisory experience a plus
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience with Deltek software preferred but not required
