What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant position at Specialists in Rehabilitation Medicine, P.C.?
Our dynamic and growing rehabilitation team of eleven Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physicians and sixteen Advanced Practitioners is seeking an additional Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work 5 days a week in the Rochester and Port Huron area. Providers would also have the opportunity to pick up additional hours (weekends) as needed to provide coverage for other providers. This opportunity includes rotational Skilled Nursing Facility and Hospital work.
SIRM currently provides services in all of the following areas: Commerce, Rochester, Bloomfield, Lake Orion, Pontiac, Waterford, White Lake, Milford, Novi, Southfield, Troy and Port Huron.
The primary duties are to assist the PM&R Physician with the coordination of rehabilitation services at Skilled Nursing Facilities and Hospitals in Oakland County and Port Huron Area. New patient consultations, rounds, team conferences, admissions, and discharge planning are a few of the specific duties. This rewarding position will work with patients that were admitted to the Skilled Nursing Facility or Inpatient Rehab Units for short-term rehabilitation and assist them in successfully returning to their home environment by maximizing their functional ability.

Vocational Training And Competencies Required
Completion of Master’s Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree from Physician Assistant Program
Must possess current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.
Must possess and maintain current BLS certification.
Ideally 1-3 years of experience, however, new grads are welcome to apply

Ability to utilize verbal and written communication skills in order to address and interact effectively and courteously with external and internal customers, including senior management and various other individuals
Operate system-based software applications, hospital preferred
