Role Description The Manager, Programs is a full-time role based in San Luis Obispo, CA. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of sports and program activities, ensuring they align with Special Olympics Southern California’s mission and standards. Day-to-day tasks include managing program schedules, supporting coaches and volunteers, coordinating events and competitions, and maintaining clear communication with athletes, families, and community partners. The Manager, Programs will monitor program quality and outcomes, manage budgets and resources, and contribute to outreach and partnership development to expand participation. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and collaborating with internal teams to improve programming and participant experience.
Qualifications
- Program and event management skills, including planning, coordination, logistics, and budgeting.
- Experience working with community-based or sports programs, ideally serving individuals with intellectual disabilities or diverse populations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills for collaborating with athletes, families, volunteers, and partners.
- Ability to analyze program data, track outcomes, and prepare reports to support continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with common office software and digital tools used for scheduling, documentation, and remote collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage time effectively, and balance on-site and remote responsibilities.
