Special Olympics New York is seeking motivated health professionals/students to lead a 1-hour virtual webinar in January for our athletes. This month’s topic will focus on fitness, goal-setting, and basic nutrition strategies to support a healthy start to the new year.
This is a great opportunity for professionals and students interested in exercise science, nutrition, health promotion, public health, PT/OT, nursing, or other health fields who want hands-on experience with community education and inclusive health programming.
Role Responsibilities
- Present a 1-hour virtual webinar/presentation for Special Olympics athletes (content support provided).
- Cover beginner-friendly health topics such as:
- Setting realistic fitness goals
- Building healthy daily habits
- Simple nutrition tips
- Staying active during winter
- Engage athletes with accessible explanations and encourage participation.
- Coordinate briefly with Special Olympics New York staff before the webinar to confirm content and format.
Preferred Qualifications
Current professional or student in a health-related discipline (nutrition, exercise science, kinesiology, PT/OT, public health, nursing, medical, etc.).
Comfortable presenting to groups in a virtual format.
Interest in health education, wellness, and inclusive programming.
Ability to explain concepts clearly for a diverse audience.
