Description:
Special Olympics Massachusetts is embarking on a new strategic plan that focuses on revenue and programmatic growth across the state through 2030. A primary area of focus and strategy for this plan is revenue growth through signature and community fundraising. The Fundraising Event Coordinator will focus on supporting and engaging fundraisers and constituents across the Revenue Department, ensuring that they have a tremendous experience with Special Olympics Massachusetts, and that their engagement with our mission produces localized impacts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement any events or logistics related to community fundraisers, department-wide initiatives and programs like Polar Plunge, Boston Marathon Weekend, Opening Ceremonies, Statewide Final Leg, etc.
- Manage the organization’s fundraising software to ensure top-notch constituent experience and serve the organization’s strategic revenue goals.
- Maintain and provide the tools, incentives and support to fundraising teams, motivating them to reach their goals.
- Help support participant and team renewal and recruitment goals for signature and community fundraising events by implementing stewardship and communication plans.
- Represent and speak on behalf of Special Olympics Massachusetts at various events, conferences, and meetings.
- Be ready, willing and able to take on other duties as assigned.
Skills Needed:
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, public speaking and sales skills
- Strong event planning and execution background
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of industry fundraising software preferred
- Ability to work nights and weekends regularly
- Ability to effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities
- Demonstrated capability to conduct one’s self in a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with people and/or with difficult situations.
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff, volunteers, and other constituents.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the following skills: Action-oriented, Drive for Results, Dealing with Change & Uncertainty, Building Effective Teams, Customer-focused, Managing Vision & Purpose.
Background Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum 1-3 years in non-profit fundraising/development
Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt
Salary: $42,500 - $45,000 Range

Education Requirement: Bachelor's (Preferred)
Development/Non-profit Sales Experience: Minimum 1 Year experience required
