Qualifications:
- Understand and embrace the mission and philosophy of Special Olympics and our athletes
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as collaboratively as a team member
- Excellent communication, organizational, written, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate efficient time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Have own reliable transportation, good driving history and valid FL driver’s license
- Regular attendance required
Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and grow the community-based recruitment of athletes, by working collaboratively with development sports, regional directors, Unified Champion Schools &other recruitment liaisons
- Serve as athlete and family education/engagement liaison
- Host monthly webinars for new athletes and their families with a focus on SOFL programs and opportunities (sports, health & athlete leadership)
- Serve as point person for athlete and family outreach
- Maintain oversight of the athletes as coach’s leadership training and education
- Assist with sports activities/competitions, as needed
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to travel and complete weekend and evening duties as assigned
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
