NDT Trainee - Swing Shift Country United States of America State / County Nevada City Carson City Division Structurals Company Carson City Function Quality Workplace Type On-Site Position type Full Time Opportunity ID 24349 Job Description Core Schedule: Monday - Friday 2pm - 10:30am Training Schedule: Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING The NDT X-Ray Trainee is responsible for performing radiographic testing (RT) to evaluate aerospace castings for internal defects. This role ensures product quality by operating X-ray equipment, preparing and positioning parts, interpreting radiographic images, and maintaining accurate inspection records. You’ll work in compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and NADCAP standards, with opportunities to grow through a structured Trainee–Level 3 career path based on certification, experience, and technical expertise. A highlight of your day-to-day will include: Radiographic Inspection Operations Preparing and positioning castings for inspection Operating X-ray equipment using approved techniques and safety procedures Processing film or digital images and ensuring proper traceability Documentation & Compliance Interpreting technique cards, specifications, and procedures Maintaining inspection records and lot traceability Ensuring compliance with NAS 410, NADCAP, and customer requirements Equipment & Area Maintenance Performing daily system checks and verifying equipment readiness Maintaining calibration status of inspection equipment Keeping the NDT area clean and organized (6S) Quality & Productivity Handling parts carefully to ensure protection and traceability Meeting production goals, cycle times, and inspection throughput targets Safety Following all radiation safety and plant safety procedures Identifying and reporting unsafe conditions General Responsibilities Supporting department and business objectives as needed WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR You’re detail-oriented and take pride in precision work.
