Special-Lite is looking for a Paint Technician to join our team at our Benton Harbor location. As a Paint Tech, you will perform a variety of duties related to the painting of our custom doors and entryways. Duties include:

Special-Lite is looking for a Paint Technician to join our team at our Benton Harbor location. As a Paint Tech, you will perform a variety of duties related to the painting of our custom doors and entryways. Duties include:
- Inspecting doors, frames, and accessory components for cosmetic defects
- Sanding or performing cosmetic repairs as needed
- Hanging doors, frames and accessory components in preparation for priming and painting
- Mixing and spraying primer and paint according to shop sheet specifications on prepared doors, frames and accessory components.
- Examining finished product to verify conformance to specification
- Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment and work area Position Requirements: A qualified individual with a disability must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
- Intermediate mechanical comprehension and abilities.
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions in written, oral, and/or diagram form.
- Lift 50-70lbs with assistance.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Complete all work within our safety guidelines.
- Work and train in other departments as needed. Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with spraying wet paint.
- Previous experience with Bondo and Sanding.
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, or construction experience.
- Blueprint or template reading a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus. Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to talk and hear.
- Required to stand and walk.
- Required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 70-pounds with assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. - Safety glasses are always required on the production floor.
