Special-Lite is seeking an HR Generalist who will administer human resources programs and policies across multiple functional areas including employee relations, staffing, benefits, compliance, and training. This role exercises independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance and serves as a resource for employees and managers throughout the organization.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Administer day-to-day HR programs and processes including employee relations, onboarding, benefits enrollment, leave administration, and records management.
- Support the full-cycle recruiting process including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, pre-employment processing, and offer management.
- May assist and/or conduct new employee orientation and coordinate onboarding activities to foster a positive first experience.
- Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee and manager questions; escalate complex employee relations, policy interpretation, or leadership matters as appropriate.
- Administer leaves of absence programs including FMLA, short-term disability, and other applicable programs in compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Process all employee status changes (promotions, transfers, separations, leaves) and maintain accurate HRIS records.
- Assist with employee relations matters and support investigation processes through documentation, intake coordination, and follow-up activities. Support training and development initiatives including scheduling, facilitation, and tracking of required programs.
- Assist with annual processes including open enrollment, performance review cycles, and AAP reporting.
- Maintain I-9 documentation and ensure compliance with applicable employment verification requirements.
- Travel to other company locations to deliver HR services as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; equivalent experience considered.
- 1–3 years of HR generalist or HR administrative experience required; manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of employment law including EEO, ADA, FMLA, NLRB, and AAP requirements.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Travel Requirements
Travel to other company locations is required periodically. The amount of travel will vary based on business need.
Primary Physical and Office Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, and use hands to operate office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
