The Investor Relations Specialist works closely with the Director of Development and Marketing, to build and maintain relationships with VIP’s and Individual Donors, One Change Monthly donors and potential Legacy Giving donors using Moves Management. In addition, this position will work to deliver impactful communications with donors and achieve sustainable growth. The IRS will collaborate with the Director of Development and Marketing to plan and reach the development budget.
Summary
The Investor Relations Specialists is responsible for collaborating in the development and implementation of an annual plan for individual donors, business supporters and the creation of new individual donors and One Change Monthly donors. The IRS will execute the development strategy and tactics outlined in the annual development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Annual Planning: Collaborates with team in the development of the annual plan for Special Kids top investors.Works with the Director of Development and Marketing to develop an annual fundraising strategy for key individual donors and One Change Monthly donors, Hope Drive Campaign, Legacy Giving and mini-introductory events.
- Coordinates with the Development and Marketing team and the development calendar to ensure there is no overlap in communications with top investors and sponsors and event needs and asks to maximize value to the community.
- Coordination with marketing team for publication needs and/or communications strategy to include flyers, brochures, postcards, social media, e-blasts, invitations, mailings, etc.
- Community outreach is integrated into the annual fundraising plan to build ongoing and new support and raise awareness to attract new donors and sponsors.
- Collaborates with team to develop annual communication plan for individual donors and One Change Monthly donors.
Finances and Revenue Generation: Responsible for growing individual donor and One Change monthly donor relationships, maintaining and increasing revenue from various sources defined in the budget, development plan and fundraising strategy.
- Solicits, maintains, secures, and grows individual donor relationships increasing revenue commitments for annual, endowment, capital campaigns, matching funds and other fundraising strategies as defined in the development plan.
- Support all fundraising campaigns, (Hope Drive, Giving Tuesday, and others) as assigned by the Director of Development and Marketing.
- Reports to Director of Development and Marketing on variances from budget from assigned accounts and fundraising strategy.
Administration: Works closely with the Director of Development and Marketing in establishing priorities, timelines, budgets, workplans and updates. Documents all communications related to individual donor and One Change Monthly donors in the customer relationship management program.
- Executes timely thank you phone calls and hand-written notes to donors following the investor stewardship plan.
- Meets target dates for deliverables by establishment of priorities, work plans and timelines.
- Documents in the customer relationship management system all communications with vendors, sponsors, donors, and community organizations daily.
- Represents Special Kids at fundraising and community events as appropriate.
- Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
Preferred bachelor’s degree in communications or 3-5 years’ experience in related field. Experience in non-profits or fundraising preferred.
Computer Skills
To be successful in this job, an individual should have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and web-based applications.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations None required; CPR certification recommended.
