What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Skills Teacher position at Special Education?
Life Skills Teacher - Elementary
Noble School District (MSAD 60) is looking to hire a Special Education Teacher (282 or 286 Certified) for an elementary level Life Skills program. This Special Educator would work collaboratively with service providers (Speech Therapist, OT, PT, BCBA, etc) to create a safe and energetic learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities would include:
Case managing a diverse group of students diagnosed with Autism, Speech/Language Impairment, Other Health Impairment and/or Intellectual Disabilities.
Supervising Educational Technicians.
Recording and maintaining data.
Utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to create behavior plans and student programming based on students’ IEPs.
Providing Specially Designed Instruction through the implementation of Discrete Trial Instruction (DTI), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), small group instruction, etc.
Understanding assessment and programming tools such as VB-MAPP, AFLS, and/or KTEA.
Collaborating with general education teachers to facilitate inclusion of students in the mainstream setting.
