LIFE SKILLS EDUCATIONAL TECHNICIANS
MSAD 60 is looking for an Educational Technician to work with our students in preschool in a functional life skills classroom per Individualized Education Plans. The supervising teacher will create functional, behavioral, and academic plans for the Educational Technician to carry out throughout the day. Educational Technicians are expected to follow the designed plans as prescribed by the teacher.
Life Skills and basic pre academic skills activities include, but are not limited to, supporting students in:
Functional communication;
Using a communication devices, if applicable;
Daily living skills building;
Interactive play skills;
Turn taking;
Activities of daily living;
Reading Readiness skills;
Math Readiness Skills;
Pre Handwriting skills;
Expected Classroom Behaviors;
Expected Socially Acceptable Behavior;
Self-control; and
Making Connections.
Candidates should be comfortable collecting data about student performance throughout the day. They will be supporting students individually, in small groups, and in the special education classroom.
