Primary Purpose

 

Assist schools in the development of appropriate educational programs for students by conducting full individual evaluations, providing direct counseling and social skills instruction, consultative psychological services, and conducting and/or participating in ARD meetings for students while under the supervision of a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. This assignment if for the duration of one school year for the completion of the LSSP Internship requirements. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Certification/Licensure

Bachelor's degree and at least two years of Master’s level coursework in a School Psychology program from an accredited university

Enrollment in an approved university training program, with established readiness for an enrollment in the University's designated internship experience course

Curriculum and academic training leading to Licensure by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists as an LSSP

Special Knowledge/Skills

Knowledge of psychological assessment, data collection and analysis, and IDEA eligibility determination procedures.

Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Proficient use of computer-based programs to analyze data and write evaluation reports such as Microsoft office

Must be able to effectively communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing

Experience

Practicum experience in public schools, preferred

 

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties

 

  1. Conduct Full Individual Evaluations as a part of a multi-disciplinary evaluation team to identify students who may be eligible for special education services using current assessment best practices that are consistent with laws, rules, and regulations according to federal, state, and local policies/procedures
  2. Plan and provide services that are appropriate and consistent with behavior goals contained in the individual education plan.
  3. Provide related services in the form of counseling and psychological services and/or social skills.
  4. Utilize assessment and evaluation information to plan individualize student programs
  5. Develop Function Behavior Analysis reports
  6. Deliver short-term services for students such as crisis counseling, suicide prevention, and behavior consultation
  7. Collaborate with assessment personnel, families, educators, administrators, outside agencies, and related service personnel to provide appropriate services for students
  8. Participate as needed in ARD meetings
  9. Participate as needed in SST meeting

  17. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  18. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  19. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  20. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  21. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  22. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  23. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Term: 192 days

Pay Grade: $30,000
