Coordinator of Special Education

The Coordinator of Special Education provides oversight, assistance, and coordination of special education services and program supports.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinates Special Education services and provides program support.
• Observes and provides growth producing feedback to teachers regarding instruction, student engagement, and classroom environment.
• Assists with caseload compliance.
• Provides support to schools in all aspects of administration and implementation of services.
• Provides instructional support and the development of professional learning for teachers and staff.
• Provides assistance and coordination of Manifestation Determination Review meetings.
• Responds to inquiries from students, parents, agencies, teachers or members of the school community.

Education and Experience:

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License within a specific endorsement area(s)
• Three (3) years of successful, full-time, teaching experience within a public school system and/or leadership experience within a school setting

Preferred

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Special Education or Administration

Employment Terms: Employment is offered as an 12-month (243 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked daily. This position is evaluated annually.

Salary : $79,510 - $147,778
