Job Summary
Responsible for minor repairs and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and associated systems and equipment. Also performs general plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall repairs, and light landscaping tasks such as cutting grass, weed whacking, and basic grounds upkeep.
Skills & Experience
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, building maintenance, and repair methods.
- Familiarity with general commercial HVAC systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to make simple mathematical calculations and read/interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, work at heights, and in adverse weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Team-oriented with respect for coworkers and customers.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and electrical systems.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs in SNN buildings (plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
- Maintain a schedule and perform preventive maintenance.
- Assist with installations and projects.
- Maintain documentation related to maintenance tasks.
- Assist in moving furniture, boxes, and equipment as needed.
- Perform light landscaping tasks including cutting grass, weed whacking, and basic grounds maintenance.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and timely attendance.
- Interact professionally and respectfully with the public and coworkers.
- Flexible schedule; may include weekends and evenings.
- Occasionally drive the mobile surgery unit.
Physical Requirements
- Moderate physical labor requiring strength and agility.
- Frequent standing, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.
- Occasional sitting and smelling.
- Must be able to lift, shovel, and carry 50 pounds and exert up to 100 pounds of force.
