Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and client preferences
- Handle dogs safely and compassionately, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure a stress-free experience
- Conduct pet coat styling, pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other grooming procedures with precision and care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests, provide updates, and offer pet care advice
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations and sanitize tools regularly to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with animal handling during grooming appointments, ensuring proper animal restraint and safety at all times
- Support kennel or pet sitting duties as needed, including heavy lifting of animals or supplies when required
- Schedule own dogs and others, selling of retail items and computer and register experienc.
Experience
- Previous experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred
- Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is a strong plus
- Familiarity with dog training techniques and animal restraint methods enhances your ability to work confidently with diverse breeds
- Experience working with animals such as horses or other companion animals adds valuable versatility
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for animal care or equipment handling
