Duties
- Support licensed electricians by preparing work areas, organizing tools, and handling materials needed for electrical installations.
- Assist with installing wiring, conduits, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures according to project specifications and schematics.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, strip, and connect electrical components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to understand project requirements.
- Help with troubleshooting low voltage and high voltage electrical systems using testing devices such as ohmmeters.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during construction activities.
- Learn to identify different types of electrical components and systems including NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and low voltage wiring.
Qualifications
- Previous experience or exposure to residential or commercial electrician work is a plus but not required; eagerness to learn is essential!
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction site safety practices.
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts such as schematics, blueprints reading, low voltage systems, and high voltage safety procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
- Prior construction site experience or frame carpentry knowledge is advantageous but not mandatory.
