Job Summary:
Spaulding Clinical is seeking a highly motivated and outgoing Outreach Specialist to expand our presence in the Milwaukee and West Bend, WI areas. This is a community-focused role that requires building relationships, promoting clinical research opportunities, and connecting with individuals interested in participating in paid clinical research studies. The position is primarily field-based visiting local businesses and community spaces such as laundromats, libraries, pool halls, health events, and community centers. Reliable transportation is required, and mileage will be reimbursed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote Spaulding Clinical’s research services in the community by engaging with individuals and organizations at various outreach locations and events.
- Serve as the first point of contact for potential participants, clearly explaining what it means to join a study, including time commitments and procedures (e.g., providing blood and urine samples).
- Build and maintain positive community relationships that may lead to prospective partnerships and ongoing referral opportunities.
- Communicate regularly with the Manager or Lead Subject Recruiter regarding outreach activities, new contacts, and potential leads.
- Assist with planning and supporting community events that showcase Spaulding Clinical’s research opportunities.
- Represent Spaulding Clinical at community events, health fairs, and local meetings by confidently speaking to individuals or groups to promote research participation opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Recruitment team by providing feedback or ideas for outreach/ marketing materials such as flyers, posters, or digital content based on community engagement experiences.
- Screen potential participants using study-specific tools to determine eligibility and schedule screening appointments.
- Support recruitment-related office tasks as needed.
- Work is performed both in the office and in community settings. The role requires regular travel to various outreach locations, including businesses, public spaces, and events. Noise levels and environmental conditions may vary.

Skills/Qualifications:
- Friendly, approachable, and outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation with proof of insurance (required).
- Self-starter who can work independently while on the road.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing outreach needs and study requirements.
- Comfortable speaking with a wide range of people and promoting clinical research opportunities in a clear, professional manner.
Driving Requirements:
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license (or valid license from state of residence).
- Must maintain an acceptable driving record and provide proof of current auto insurance.
- Must be able to drive for extended periods of time to outreach locations within assigned territory (e.g., Milwaukee and West Bend areas).
- Must be able to transport outreach materials and supplies as needed.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in community outreach, sales, promotions, or customer service preferred but not required.
Spaulding Clinical Research management has the discretion to hire personnel with a combination of experience and education which may vary from the above listed skills and qualifications.
