Project Accountant/Analyst (Hybrid)

Description

Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI) is seeking a motivated Project Accountant/Analyst to join our Finance team. This role will be responsible for monthly billing, project financial analysis, and program reporting. You will work closely with Project Managers and management to track actuals, develop forecasts, and report on the economic health of assigned programs.

This position is Hybrid in Bethesda, MD, and requires on-site 3 days a week. 

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop forecast files for assigned contracts.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly invoices.
• Track funding levels and period of performance data.
• Review and approve subcontractor invoices.
• Partner with Accounting, PMO, and Contracts teams to assess profitability and financial impacts.
• Assist in developing Task Order baselines, Estimates-to-Complete (ETCs), and Estimates-at-Completion (EACs).
• Create monthly financial status reports, conduct trend analysis, and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience.  
• 1 years of related experience (internships considered).  
• Knowledge of job costing, billing, expenses, and revenue recognition (preferred).  
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and advanced features.  
• Self-motivated with the ability to work cross-functionally with minimal supervision.  
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.  
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical with strong problem-solving skills.

 Additional Information

• The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 annually
• SFI maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations.
• This role offers a flexible work arrangement, primarily remote with the understanding that occasional on-site presence may be required to support client needs.
