Spartronics is a leading contract manufacturer providing high-reliability electronic and electromechanical manufacturing solutions for aerospace, defense, space, medical, and other mission-critical markets.

We are seeking an experienced Materials Planner III to join our Logan, Utah team. In this role, you will help ensure materials, production schedules, and customer requirements stay aligned across complex manufacturing programs. You’ll work closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Program Management, Engineering, Production, and customers to identify risks, resolve shortages, and keep programs moving.

Reports To:  Materials Planning Manager and Senior Supply Chain Manager

Materials availability directly impacts our ability to meet customer commitments. As a Materials Planner III, you will play a key role in identifying supply risks early, coordinating recovery plans, optimizing inventory, and ensuring our manufacturing teams have what they need to deliver high-quality products on time.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, maintain, and adjust material and production plans based on customer demand, production schedules, inventory, capacity, and supplier performance.
• Partner with the Master Scheduler to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and overall manufacturing priorities.
• Review, release, and maintain work orders while ensuring ERP/MRP planning data remains accurate.
• Monitor material availability, shortages, inventory levels, backlog, and supplier delivery performance.
• Work closely with Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, Engineering, Program Management, and suppliers to resolve material constraints.
• Identify supply-chain risks and lead recovery efforts related to shortages, supplier delays, schedule changes, and production priorities.
• Communicate material constraints, schedule impacts, and recovery plans to internal teams and customers.
• Coordinate planning activities related to engineering changes, component obsolescence/EOL, RMAs, and excess material.
• Support material planning for new product introductions, manufacturing transitions, and changing customer requirements.
• Analyze inventory and planning data to identify opportunities to improve material flow, inventory levels, and planning accuracy.
• Participate in production, program, and cross-functional status meetings.
• Support continuous improvement and root-cause activities related to shortages, inventory discrepancies, supplier performance, and planning processes.
• Provide guidance and support to less-experienced planning or supply-chain team members as needed.

Requirements

 What We’re Looking For

• 5 years of experience in material planning, production planning, inventory control, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems to manage material requirements, inventory, work orders, and production planning.
• Strong understanding of material planning, inventory management, manufacturing workflows, and supply-chain coordination.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate shortages, inventory trends, supplier performance, and production requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with customers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, contract manufacturing, aerospace, or defense.
• Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience with supplier recovery planning, material shortages, engineering changes, NPI, or manufacturing transfers.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, bills of material, or component documentation.
• APICS, CPIM, CSCP, Lean, Six Sigma, or other related training or certification.

Salary : $70,000 - $95,000
