Position Overview: Remote IT Project Engineer I
Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is seeking a skilled and motivated Remote IT Project Engineer I to lead and support IT initiatives that drive operational excellence and improve healthcare delivery. This position is 100% remote, and we are only accepting applicants who reside in one of the following states:
Eligible States: AL, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, NC, PA, RI, SC, VA, WV, WI
As an IT Project Engineer I, you will manage the full lifecycle of IT projects—from initiation to closure—ensuring alignment with SRHS’s strategic goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate with stakeholders at all levels, and apply your technical and organizational expertise to deliver impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead IT projects through all phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
- Coordinate project teams and resources to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
- Facilitate collaboration and communication across departments and leadership.
- Manage project risks, issues, and scope changes using industry-standard techniques.
- Support IT security standards and ensure use of approved technologies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Monitor stakeholder satisfaction and project performance metrics.
- Lead go-live planning and post-implementation support.
- Apply project management methodologies and tools to drive continuous improvement.
Education
- Associate degree or higher, or equivalent applicable experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in Healthcare or IT.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, or a related field.
- 7 years in Healthcare or IT project management.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Proven leadership and delegation abilities.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
