Position Overview
The Spartanburg site is staffed by 5 radiation oncologists, 2 physicists, 2 medical dosimetrists, and 7 radiation therapists, caring for approximately 60 patients daily. We offer an active HDR program for prostate and GYN treatments, along with VMAT, SRS, SBRT, LDR GammaTile, and rectal spacer procedures.

Position Overview
The Spartanburg site is staffed by 5 radiation oncologists, 2 physicists, 2 medical dosimetrists, and 7 radiation therapists, caring for approximately 60 patients daily. We offer an active HDR program for prostate and GYN treatments, along with VMAT, SRS, SBRT, LDR GammaTile, and rectal spacer procedures.
Equipment includes:
- Aria/Eclipse
- 2 Varian TrueBeams
- Identify surface guidance system
- Elekta/Nucletron Flexitron HDR with Oncentra TPS
- Siemens Somatom CT simulator
- Provide clinical physics support for Radiation Oncology, including oversight of treatment planning and technical delivery
- Consult with Radiation Oncologists on special procedures and setups
- Ensure calibration and functionality of treatment systems per national standards
- Assist with Brachytherapy implants, planning, and treatment oversight
- Perform weekly chart reviews, treatment assessments, and chart closures
- Maintain operating procedures to reduce downtime and ensure treatment accuracy
- Collaborate with Radiation Safety Officer for equipment QA and compliance with DHEC regulations
- Support acquisition and implementation of new technologies and research protocols
- Provide clinical instruction to therapy staff and assist with national certifications and quality initiatives
- Education: DMP or PhD in Medical Physics or related Physics field
- Experience: 7 years of clinical practice, including HDR and rectal spacing experience
- Certifications:
- ABR
- Continuing education per AAPM and ABMP
- 10 years of clinical practice with HDR and rectal spacing experience
- Ability to immediately work with ARIA, Eclipse, and Nucletron HDR systems
- ABMP/ABR certification
- Work with advanced technology in a leading Radiation Oncology department
