Minimum Requirements
Education
- PGY2 in area of specialty or
- PGY1 BCPS 5 years clinical experience in a specific patient population* or
- PGY2 BCPS*
Experience
- Experience in health system pharmacy including experience with computer systems and their applications to the clinical and operational aspects of pharmaceutical care.
- SC Pharmacy License - Will work under direct supervision of licensed pharmacist until license obtained.
- Compounds, prepares, labels, and dispenses medications (sterile and non-sterile) for all age groups according to accepted standards of practice as assigned.
- Interprets medication orders, monitors drug regimens, and performs interventions when order clarification is necessary or when therapeutic problems are identified.
- Works with other health care providers, including participating in rounds and other patient care activities, to optimize medication regimens using evidence-based medicine and standards of care.
- Expand and/or optimize departmental services
- Precept APPE Advanced Institutional students.
- Oversee residency application process and program; Precept PGY1 residents as assigned.
- Designs and performs quality improvement projects. Demonstrates the ability to implement new programs/improvements with minimal supervisory assistance and develop metrics to assess the impact of changes made
- Supervises support personnel in a consistent manner.
