Position Summary
Responsible for directing operations of the ambulance services department, including scheduling of employees and ensuring that daily operations are performed according to departmental procedures. Serves as shift supervisor in the absence of the shift supervisor. Provides leadership for the department and also serves as preceptor for onboarding new associates. Provides advanced life support emergency care for ill or injured patients. Provides age specific and culturally appropriate patient care through knowledge of growth and development. Assists in departmental management with periodic assessments of the system and data.
Minimum Requirements
- Education
- Associates Degree in EMS, business management, or healthcare management.
Experience- 4 Years EMS or Ambulance Service Experience
- 2 years Paramedic Experience
Required Licenses/Registrations/Certifications
- driver's license
- National Registry Paramedic
- SC DHEC Paramedic
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
Core Job Responsibilities
- Most be able with withstand the stress and demands of an active position.
- Function without direct supervision.
- Provides daily supervision and leadership for the department and associates.
- Represent the department in meetings and rounding with facilities and patients.
- Maintain associate scheduling to assure adequate staffing and leave policies are followed daily
- Review and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Perform medication inventory of a daily basis
- Cover staffing shortages as needed
- Complete regular rounding on all associates and follow up as needed
- Perform annual evaluations on associates based on observed and measured performance
- Perform disciplinary action- verbal and written
- Assist with routine QA review of documentation
