Responsible for:
- Supervising and managing shift personnel and physical resources as it relates to system inventory and the 340B program
- Works with system acute care purchasing/procurement manager to maximize compliant 340B utilization
- Works with 340B Compliance Analyst and System Pharmacy Operations Manager to audit/ interpret audit findings and implement corrective action plans to maintain program compliance
- Works toward implementation and maintenance of an automated mixed virtual inventory to facilitate a system-wide centralized distribution model.
Education
- BS in Pharmacy/Pharm.D.
- >5 years healthcare experience and/or completion of applicable residency (PGY1 residency preferred; PGY2 Admin Residency Preferred)
- 340B experience
- Experience managing/supervising staff
- Process improvement/Implementation
- Pharmacy Inventory/Formulary management
- Automation experience
- Prior experience in health system pharmacy including experience with computer systems and their applications to the clinical and operational aspects of pharmaceutical care required.
- 2-3 years as a Health System Pharmacist (practicing in both the distributive and clinical/decentralized duties) or completed an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency (or eligible).
- Current license (or eligible) to practice pharmacy in S.C.
- Pharmacy extern will work under supervision of licensed pharmacist until license obtained.

Inventory Oversight:
- Monitors purchasing records for each acute care 340B participant; clearly documents utilization, savings, problem areas, and exceptions or discrepancies. Relays results to pharmacy leadership and
- administration.
- Manages and tracks 340B drug inventory, including proper replenishment.
- Works with 340B program coordinator to track, trend, and report 340B pharmaceutical purchase data to ensure provider/physician and patient eligibility.
- Manages inventory control processes.
- Monitors monthly system loan-borrow reporting and replenishment documentation
- Continuously monitors product min/max levels to effectively balance product availability and
- cost- efficient inventory control.
- Maintains system EMR to reflect changes in the drug formulary or product specifications.
- Optimizes purchasing of supplies and medications from the 340 program.
- May be required to work on inventory management of the 340B Program and offer input as to
- the application’s overall functionality and opportunities for improving compliance and or
- efficiency.
- Routinely monitors utilization records and 340B purchasing accounts to ensure that software or
- tools are working properly.
- Performs thorough quarterly reviews of the new 340B pricing list to search for and quickly
- address costly changes.
- Oversees 340B regulatory aspects of the inventory purchasing process for acute care
- and mixed-use areas including transfers between facilities.
- Regularly monitors 340B purchasing activity and compliance with established protocols.
- Ensures the effective delivery and distribution of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical products as they relate to 340B.
- Monitors pharmacy returns, credit worthy and non-credit worthy, to optimize system PAR levels and minimize non-credit worthy returns based on individual manufacturer requirements and reverse distribution data.
- Maximize inventory visibility via pharmacy automation platform
- Implement and optimize Facility based central distribution model and inventory control initiatives
- Continuous review of purchasing records to standardize drug purchases at the system level to decrease WAC spend and prevent potential diversion
