Spartanburg Methodist College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning in August 2027. This is an on-campus position with a primary emphasis on undergraduate teaching. We seek an enthusiastic and student-centered mathematician who is passionate about teaching, committed to helping students develop confidence and competence in mathematics, and excited to contribute to a small, collaborative academic community.

About the College: Founded in 1911, Spartanburg Methodist College is a private residential liberal arts institution serving a diverse student population within the United Methodist Connection. Since its founding as the first co-op school in the nation, SMC has remained dedicated to its mission to connect education and employment. After over 100 years as an Associate Degree granting institution, the college launched its first bachelor's degree in 2019. - Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field.

- Ability to teach face-to-face courses on SMC's Spartanburg campus.
- College-level mathematics teaching experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Experience teaching introductory statistics, college algebra, precalculus, and/or calculus.
- Experience using evidence-based or active-learning approaches in mathematics instruction.
- Experience working with students from varied academic backgrounds.
- Interest or experience in mathematics curriculum development and assessment.
