Week D:Sunday 12:30-5:30, Tuesday 10:30-8:00, Wednesday 9:00-6:00, Thursday 9:00-6:00, Friday 8:00-5:00

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and some supervisory experience. Must pass pre-employment testing.

Essential Functions
- Provides superior customer service when assisting patrons of all ages with information requests, patron account services, computers, digital services and other library equipment.
- Assists with promoting library card sign ups and community outreach
- Assists with all circulation duties, library card registration, patron account services and collection maintenance
- Works with a variety of software and library automation programs
- Contributes to branch meetings and workflow by making suggestions and sharing ideas
- Regularly checks the branch email, Intranet and library website for new information
- Remains aware of security and safety concerns taking appropriate action as needed
- Performs basic readers’ advisory and information assistance, material retrieval and places hold requests
- Responsible for weekly in-transit and missing reports,
- Assists with preparing courier bins for delivery and in processing.
- Assists with maintaining the tidiness of the shelves and display areas.
- Assists with training new employees and assisting with additional branch coverage for programming
- Responsible for opening and closing procedures for the Branch including register and deposit tasks
- Supports supervisor directives and assumes responsibility of building and staff in supervisor’s absence
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and some supervisory experience
- Knowledge of popular books, pop culture and current events
- Strong technology skills and ability to work with a variety of devices, software and audio-visual equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills that display a positive attitude, cultural sensitivity, a sense of humor, with the ability to interface with people from all backgrounds and age groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creative, flexible and organized with good time management skills and attention to detail
- General knowledge of the procedures, practices and equipment of a public library with the ability to alphabetize and arrange items numerically
- Ability to take direction and work independently or in a team environment
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to take initiative and ability to direct the tasks of coworkers

- Driver’s license valid in the State of South Carolina with the ability to drive to other libraries or community outreach
