Job Description
Math/AVID Instructor/Asst. to the Dean—Part-time, Secondary Math Certified
Schedule: 7:45 am—3:30 pm Fall Semester Only
The instructor will be responsible for the following:
• Teaching Algebra II Honors - (Semester I).
• Teaching Geometry Honors - (Semester II).
• Teaching 10th grade AVID Class both semesters.
• Supervision before classes, at lunch, and dismissal.
• Assistance with daily operations.
• Student Council Advisor
• Lead after school Tutoring/Supplemental Instruction for all math courses (including Pre-Calculus & Calculus students).
• Assistant to the Dean – Minimum of one class block each day, the Math/AVID Instructor will assist the Dean in performing administrative responsibilities as delegated by the Dean. Each semester, the Math/AVID Instructor will instruct one Math Class, instruct one AVID Class, have one dedicated block for planning, and have one block dedicated to functioning as Assistant to the Dean. Examples of administrative responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
1. Preparing summary performance reports for various districts.
2. Preparing interim grade reports and semester report cards.
3. Tallying and ordering lunches from FFMS.
4. Recording and reporting daily attendance for all district high schools.
5. Assist with Annual Honors Day preparation.
6. Assistance in Application Process for incoming cohorts.
7. Preparing period AVID reports, independently compose letters, etc.
8. Communication with Spartanburg County School District offices, high schools, middle schools, and transportation.
9. Scheduling state testing for SCECHS students at home high schools.
10. Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
