Duties
- Perform fiber optic splicing using precision fusion and mechanical splicing techniques to ensure optimal signal quality.
- Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently during installation projects.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunication network infrastructure including cabling, LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, WAN (Wide Area Network), and low voltage systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and network diagrams to accurately execute installation plans.
- Climb poles, towers, or ladders as needed for fiber deployment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct testing of fiber optic links using specialized equipment to verify performance standards and troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while maintaining high safety standards in construction environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience in field service roles involving telecommunication or fiber optic installation.
- Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques, schematics, and network infrastructure components.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely in various outdoor environments.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and cable management techniques used in construction settings.
- Electrical experience with low voltage systems, Ethernet cabling, LAN/WAN configurations, and telephony infrastructure.
- Comfortable climbing poles, towers, or ladders; physically capable of handling demanding outdoor work conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail for troubleshooting network issues effectively.
- Valid certifications related to telecommunications or construction are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
