Position: Mechanical Technician III
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Pay: Based on experience
Hours: 2nd (3pm-11:30pm) or 3rd Shift (11:00pm-7:30am)
*Weekends as needed*
*This is a 24-hour Manufacturing Plant*
Position Summary:
Respond to repair requests and perform all aspects of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic and preventative types of maintenance on various types of machinery. Excellent mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, capable of reading electrical and mechanical prints, PLC knowledge and performing basic wiring up to 480 volts. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring and equipment based on job specifications and current National Electric Code and local codes. Ability to interpret, analyze, and write electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams or schematics. Read and understand operating manuals.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician III in our Rockledge, FL manufacturing facility.
Areas of Responsibility/Job Duties:
- Monitor equipment status and when necessary participate in equipment overhauls
- Analyze equipment to improve efficiency, safety and quality
- Maintain legible, neat and accurate records, documentation, reports, etc
- Complete maintenance service request and perform routine preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
- Follow-up on current status of equipment modifications, work orders and preventative maintenance
- Utilize test equipment such as amp meter, fluke, and laptop computer to check electrical circuits, machine operations and process instrumentation
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and apparatus using hand tools and power tools
- Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other componets
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring and equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system
- Plant layout and installation of electrical wiring and equipment based on job specifications and current National Electric Code and local codes
- Perform other dues as assigned or required
Qualifications/Requirements
· Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of building strong relationships and collaborating with frontline associates through senior company leaders.
· Minimum 3-5 years of overall mechanical experience in the manufacturing field.
· Familiar with 480V 3 Phase electrical, mechanical, and HVAC system.
· Ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment.
· Knowledge of production tools and equipment.
· Extruder knowledge and troubleshooting is a plus.
· Controls and PLC knowledge a plus.
· Compression molding knowledge is a plus.
