What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tractor-Trailer Mechanic position at Spartacus Consulting?
We're looking for a skilled Tractor Trailer Technician to keep our fleet running safely, reliably, and on schedule. This role is a key part of our maintenance team, responsible for diagnosing issues, completing repairs, and helping the shop run smoothly day to day.
Location: Auburn, ME
Schedule: First or Second Shift
What You'll Do:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance across the fleet, catching issues early through daily inspections and taking the right corrective action
- Complete repairs identified during pre-trip, post-trip, and routine inspections — working efficiently without cutting corners
- Log work orders accurately, keep your work area clean, join team meetings, and pitch in on other shop tasks as needed
What You'll Need:
- A valid driver's license
- Comfort using a computer to log and track work orders
- Strong communication skills and a professional, team-first attitude
- Physical ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, crouch, climb, and crawl on both level and uneven surfaces; comfortable lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
- Hands-on experience with heavy-duty diesel trucks — tractors and trailers, multiple makes and models
- Ability to work overhead using hand or power tools up to 15 lbs, sometimes in tight spaces
- A technical certificate is a plus but not required — 3-6 months of hands-on experience (or equivalent training) works too

Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour
