About the Role
Sparta Pharmacy, an independent community pharmacy in Sparta, NJ, is looking for a local, licensed pharmacist to join our team on a flexible, part-time / as-needed basis. This is a great fit for a pharmacist who wants extra shifts close to home or prefers a flexible schedule.
Schedule (flexible, as needed)
Weekday evenings: 4 PM – 8 PM or 5 PM – 8 PM
Saturdays: 9 AM – 5 PM
Sundays: 9 AM – 2 PM
Shifts are scheduled in advance based on your availability and store needs
Responsibilities
Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescriptions, including drug utilization and therapy reviews
Counsel patients on proper use, side effects, interactions, generics, and OTC products
Administer immunizations (flu, COVID-19, and others)
Resolve insurance and third-party claim rejections and coordinate with prescribers
Ensure pharmacy operations comply with NJ Board of Pharmacy and federal regulations
Oversee and support pharmacy technicians and help maintain a positive, team-oriented environment
Provide friendly, attentive service and build strong relationships with our patients
Qualifications
Active New Jersey pharmacist license in good standing (required)
PharmD or BS in Pharmacy
Immunization certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire)
Must live locally / within a reasonable commute of Sparta, NJ
Available for weekday evening and/or weekend shifts
Experience with PrimeRx (Micro Merchant Systems) a plus
Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
