About the Role
We’re seeking a Dental Assistant who delivers excellent chairside support and patient care in a team-based setting on a short-term assignment. You’ll handle a range of clinical tasks with opportunities to learn and grow, while maintaining top-tier safety, quality, and communication standards.
Required
- 1 year of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program (or state-accepted equivalent).
- Valid state X-ray certification/license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- Strong patient-facing communication, service mindset, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of infection control, instrument sterilization, and OSHA/HIPAA standards.
Preferred
- Coronal Polishing certification.
- Nitrous Oxide monitoring/administration certification (as allowed by state).
- Familiarity with digital radiography and common dental software.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare treatment rooms and patients by following established protocols (welcome, seat, drape, and comfort patients).
- Assist chairside: instrument passing, suctioning, field isolation, and material setup/placement.
- Manage sterilization/turnover: clean, package, and stage instruments and trays per infection-control standards.
- Take and process dental radiographs; assist with impressions, model pouring/trimming/polishing.
- Support provisional and appliance care (e.g., temporary restorations; clean/polish removable appliances).
- Provide clear patient education on oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-op instructions.
- Accurately chart and document services in patient records while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.
- Be prepared for medical/dental emergencies; maintain CPR/BLS and follow emergency protocols.
- Use equipment and supplies responsibly; keep operatory stocked and organized.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment; perform other related duties as assigned.
