What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Trader position at Sparta Metal Processing LLC?
Position: Metals Trader
Location: State of Tennessee but open to reginal opportunities depending on experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and grow key customer relationships across metal markets, with a focus on driving revenue and long-term partnerships.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts to increase volume and profitability.
- Monitor market trends, customer demand, and competitive positioning to inform pricing strategies and maximize margins.
- Act as the primary sales point of contact for customers, ensuring a high level of service, responsiveness, and issue resolution.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and accounting to ensure efficient execution and customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Account Executives, supporting development, training, and performance improvement.
- Travel as needed to develop new business, maintain relationships, and represent the company in the market.
- Attend national and regional Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) events to build industry relationships and generate new opportunities.
Target Compensation:
Compensation Depending on Experiences with bonus opportunity per quarter, and cell phone reimbursement ($60.00)
**All company travel expenses (hotels, entertainment, food, etc.) covered by SMP.
Required education: Bachelor’s degree.
Work Experience: 5 years of metals recycling experience.
Proficiencies: Microsoft Office, Business Central 365.
Non-Competition: Employee to sign a one-year non-competition agreement focused on wire chopping and proprietary accounts that drive value for Sparta Metal. SMP will not restrict you from working in the recycling industry but will protect ourselves against legacy accounts.
