Sparta High School is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Long-Term Substitute Spanish Teacher to cover a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be passionate about language education, confident teaching a range of Spanish levels, and able to work effectively with the world language team to ensure a smooth transition for students.
Position Responsibilities:

Teach AP Spanish Language and Culture, Spanish 1, and Spanish 2, following established curriculum and academic standards.

Utilize technology effectively, including PowerSchool and Schoology to manage assignments, communicate with students, and maintain accurate records.

Collaborate regularly with the Spanish department to align instruction, assessments, and pacing.

Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.

Communicate consistently and professionally with students, families, and colleagues.

Complete all typical teacher responsibilities, including grading, attendance, and supervision duties.
Qualifications:

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate or active Substitute Permit required.

Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field preferred.

Experience teaching high school Spanish strongly preferred.

Familiarity with AP Spanish Language and Culture curriculum is a plus.
