Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Effective at meeting deadlines
- Experience with/desire to work with preschool-age children
- Participate in transition meetings and activities with Infant-Toddler and Elementary Resource program providers
- Knowledge of Special Education principles, theories, testing, methods, etc.
- Maintain compliance with special education documentation and timelines
- Knowledge of the IEP process and procedures and the ability to implement, coordinate and deliver educational services based on the IEP
- Serve as an equal member in the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team evaluations
- Use effective instructional strategies to design and deliver instruction
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Use data to make instructional decisions
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administrators.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- CPI/Ukeru train preferred.
Qualifications Profile
Certification/License:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, ZS/ZA Endorsement
