What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Resource Program Teacher position at SPARTA AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT?
Qualifications/Job Description:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a State of Michigan Special Education Endorsement, preferably CI and/or EI and ZG endorsements.
- Meets NCLB qualifications for Highly Qualified status.
- Preferred experience teaching Language Arts & Math with resource room students.
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEPs, and evidence-based instructional practices.
- Familiarity and efficiency with Special Education paperwork and processes.
- Strong skills in collaboration, communication, organization, and data-driven instruction.
- Experience working with diverse learners and a range of disabilities.
- Provide small group or individual instruction to students with IEPs, based on their unique learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with IEP teams.
- Use differentiated instructional strategies and interventions to support student success.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide accommodations, adapt curricula and modify instruction to ensure access to the general education curriculum.
- Familiar with Michigan grade level content expectations and standards.
- Excellent communication skills with parents, staff and students.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Ability to work with challenging or high needs students.
- Must be willing to work collaboratively with students, parents, staff and administration.
- Great organizational and time management skills.
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
