What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Manager position at Sparrow and Kennedy Tractor Co. Inc.?
The Manning location of Sparrow and Kennedy Tractor Co. is in need of a full-time Service Manager.
This position is responsible for running our service department and requires knowledge of mechanics as well as equipment repair and maintenance. This role also requires excellent customer service and the ability to work through difficult situations.
This role will:
· Manage all technicians and assign work orders according to each individual skillset.
· Work with the service writer to check in equipment and ensure that jobs are accurately written up.
· Communicate with customers to explain needed repairs and maintain customer relations and a positive outcome with all repairs.
· Work within our computer-based business system to schedule and price all repairs.
· Extensive computer experience is required.
· Submit all vendor warranty claims and track payments.
· Maintain technician efficiencies and shop cleanliness.
· Diffuse potential customer conflict situations.
· Moderate lifting will be required for loading and unloading equipment. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
· Ability to operate various types of small to heavy equipment.
