Join Sparksoft’s Office of the Chief Data Officer as a Data Science Intern and contribute to impactful data-driven projects that support critical federal programs. In this role, you’ll transform public and corporate datasets into actionable insights through dashboards and visualizations. You’ll work alongside experienced data professionals, applying advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to solve real-world challenges. This internship offers hands-on experience with modern tools and methodologies while helping advance data innovation in the public sector.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using analytic languages and tools to communicate complex data clearly.
• Apply machine learning techniques for predictive analytics and hypothesis testing on diverse datasets.
• Collaborate with data scientists and stakeholders to identify trends and deliver actionable insights.
• Assist in data cleaning, preparation, and integration from multiple sources for analysis.
• Document processes and findings to support transparency and reproducibility.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Experience performing data visualization and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning for predictive analytics and hypothesis testing.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences..
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years

PREFERED EXPERIENCE: 

• Familiarity with Python and Java for data processing and modeling.
• Exposure to modern data platforms or cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
