BEHAVIOR PLAN MONITOR

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Employment category and hours: Part time with opportunity to grow to full time.

Wage Minimum: $17 per hour with performance bonuses up to an additional $2 per hour

Location: Calhoun County, Michigan

Recruitment Note: At Sparks Behavioral Services, we use behavioral science to improve the lives of those we work with, regardless of the nature or severity of their needs. Join us to provide consultative services to the care providers of Calhoun county. You would implement and train others to implement behavior plans to treat the severe problem behavior of people with mental health and cognitively delayed diagnoses.

Sparks Mission: We provide behavior analytic services, supports, and training for people and organizations in need so those needs are met.

Work Environment: Sparks provides consultative services for the assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior for people with mental health and/or cognitively delayed diagnoses. This position works remotely and in the facilities of other organizations such as adult foster care homes, family homes, schools, nursing homes, community mental health centers, etc. There will be frequent interactions with the staff/family members in these facilities and with the clients who experience issues with their mental health, cognitive abilities, physical abilities, and/or behavioral health. Services may be provided remotely under specific circumstances, but most clients will require in-person services (provided under the guidelines of Sparks health and safety policies). Frequent, ongoing interactions (in-person and remotely) with Behavior Plan Supervisors who share this position’s clients will be required.

Job Mission: The mission of a Behavior Plan Monitor at Sparks is to implement and monitor the implementation of behavior plans so the clients and their stakeholders (e.g. staff members, guardians, co-workers) can create reinforcing environments that allow the clients to achieve their personal goals.

Required Education and Experience:

_ Education: _Bachelor's Degree

_ Experience:_

_ _Experience using G Suite and affiliated software (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Hangouts Meet, email) or similar software to collaborate with others remotely in a work or academic setting

_ _Experience using applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles while working with people with mental, cognitive or behavioral disabilities and/or caregivers

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program in psychology, applied behavior analysis, social work, education, special education, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, nursing, or another related field
  • Experience:
  • RBT or BCaBA in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a professional 1:1 or group setting with people with mental, cognitive or behavioral disabilities and their caregivers
  • 1 or more years of experience working with other professionals on a collaborative team
  • If given data, is able to create graphs in Google Sheets (or similar software) to communicate relevant information using line graphs, bar graphs, and cumulative graphs

Other Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree
  • Must have reliable motorized vehicle and be willing and able to travel between different assigned work locations in the Calhoun County area
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance in good standing
  • Must have a reliable device with a phone number capable of making and receiving phone calls and text messages during business hours
  • Must be willing and able to use quick and sudden body movements in the course of working with people who engage in potentially dangerous behaviors
  • Must have the manual dexterity to engage in writing and typing actions
  • Must be able to provide and receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through electronic devices and paper means

  • Behavior plan monitoring visits and documentation of visits
  • Billing notes / invoices
  • Graphs and data collection
  • Development of materials for behavior plans
  • Monthly or quarterly client reports
  • Creation of and attendance at Google Calendar appointments
  • Emails, calls, voicemails, and texts (for scheduling with supervisors, co-workers, clients, and client stakeholders)
